R. Robert Dale Scholarship
Written by Moose International
Wednesday, 15 February 2012 00:00

R. Robert Dale ScholarshipSince 1986, the Moose fraternity has bestowed over $1.2 million on 1,277 students who have each won $1,000 academic awards under the R. Robert Dale Scholarship program.  The chance to win such a scholarship is now open to the high school class of 2013.

Current high school juniors are eligible to enter – one application per eligible junior- through the Moose membership of their mother, father, grandparent, or legal guardian.  The student must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (a C+).  Applications must be received no later than June 30th, 2012.  Winners may use their $1,000 scholarships for tuition, books, and fees at any accredited college or trade school after graduation from high school.

Each Student selected will receive a $1,000 dollar award!  Applications are being accepted now!

All Winners will be notified by mail by November 15th, 2012.  Drawings to determine the winners are scheduled for Moose Association Conventions from July to October across the U.S. and Canada.  Additionally, any Lodge/Chapter combination with 20 or more eligible applications may hold a Dale drawing for just its own applications!

Applications are available online in the member’s only section of Moose International under the scholarships link.  Lodge Administrators / Chapter Recorders are asked to verify the Moose affiliation information.  Both Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose memberships may be listed on the application.

The Dale Scholarship program is a legacy of the late R. Robert Dale, a member of the St. Charles, IL Lodge 1368 who, in the 1980’s left a $1 million gift to the fraternity in his will, to benefit children of Moose members who did not need the services of Mooseheart Child City and School.
